Day 12: 2/26/2016 Turtle Bay to Asuncíon We departed Turtle bay this morning around 7:30 am and are buddy boating with Sea Witch and Pura Vida to Asuncíon. It's approximately 50 NM to our next anchorage. Winds are light out of the NE with following seas. We motor sailed throughout the day averaging 6 knots, SAS-(Scooby Approved Sailing). The sun is shining and It's warm enough to wear shorts. Yay!!! Myron started the genset to make water to fill our tanks around 9:45 am. I'm looking forward to a hot shower later. We anchored in Asuncíon at sunset clocking in at eleven hours travel time. Mark from s/v Hop Toad was anchored here with Sea Witch and Pura Vida. Day 13: 2/27/2016 Asuncíon Asuncíon is a beautiful village lined with palm trees. The main industries are the cannery and fishing co-op. We ventured to shore in the dinghy where Scooby and I got soaked. Myron of course stayed dry. Next time I'll jump out of the dink when he does. As we pulled the dinghy further into

Day 7: 2/21/2016 Turtle Bay We finally got some much needed rest and woke to warm, clear and sunny skies. We started the morning lounging in bed till 10am followed by breakfast. After breakfast we did some chores on Discovery for a few hours. Then ventured to town to explore the bar and restaurants for lunch. It was our first time ashore in 7 days. Scooby ran the beaches chasing birds and greeting other local perros. While ashore we met another cruiser Mark aboard a 40' steel hull sailboat out of Alaska. He's been in Turtle Bay for 4 months waiting on tranny parts from Germany. Good to know you can have parts shipped here. We had a few rounds with Mark at Maria's and then wandered over to the Chinese takeout for lunch. The Chinese food was actually pretty tasty and the locals are so kind. After lunch we went back to Discovery to measure the cockpit cushions and have some sunset beers. Turtle bay is a cozy anchorage surrounded by rocky mountains and endless sandy beaches. I

Day 5 : 2/19/16 San Quintín to Bahia de Tortugas Pulled anchor in San Quintín at 6:30am. It's another cloudy overcast day. Wind is projected to pick up between 10am and 1 pm. Waves and wind are out of the Northwest so it should be a smooth sail. If I could only convince Scooby of this. At least all I have to do is say the word "bird" and he instantly jumps out of his bed to search and bark at birds. Confidence boost. I mistakenly bought decaf instant coffee at Costco. Whoops.... Thankfully I bought a large tub of whole coffee beans from Trader Joe's on one of our many trips to San Diego for parts. We grounded the coffee beans by hand to conserve the batteries. Breakfast is hot cereal with almond milk accompanied with lots of coffee. I would have preferred bacon and eggs but hot cereal is just too easy make. By 9:30 am we put up the main and genoa sails and were motor sailing along at 7 knots. At 10:50am we turned the motor off and raised the staysail sailing at 5

I am finally getting around to updating our blog. Better late than never. The following posts are from our trip from Ensenada, BCN, Mexico to San Carlos, Sinaloa, Mexico. Enjoy! Day 1 : 2/15/16 Departure Day We cast off our bow lines today and headed approximately 65 NM South for Cabo Colonet. We departed Marina Coral in Ensenada at 4:30 am and said our goodbyes to good friends Miguel, Mike and Judy. The marine layer was thick upon departure and dew point extremely high until mid morning when the sun broke free. Clear skies graced Discovery as we motored South. Average speed is 6 Knots. Blue skies continued through the motor to Colonet. Several pods of whales, dolphins and curious seals greeted Discovery as she neared her anchorage. Endless miles of rugged mountains and royal blue ocean surrounded us. My soul is smiling with delight. Day 3: 2/17/2016 Cabo Colonet to Bahia San Quintín After two glorious nights and a lazy day of sun bathing, hammock
