Long time no post......

Been really busy juggling glassing in the engine bearers as well as all the other engine room projects, a steady parade of friends visiting, and some set dressing work in Hollywood.  Needless to say we're not as far along as hoped (surprise!)  Here are pics in the  (somewhat) order that these projects were done.

Diaphragm bilge pump base assembly
in need of some repair
old hose fitting
New hose barbs cut from a brass nipple
and epoxied in
old water heater
good riddance
found something in the manual bilge pump
a paint marker, at least I know the pump can produce suction
rotted deck on the left was torn out and replaced

old bank. hoisted out the same way as the water heater
nice crack
new battery box, actually, there was no battery box at all previously

plywood was glassed, box assembled, filleted with thickened resin, then corners tabbed

and painted

new bank
hex bolts were changed to flat heads after fears of another crack in the side of the new batteries
box bolted to 3x3 fiberglass angle as well as bulkhead behind the box as in photo above
angle tabbed to hull

cheap ready made spacer material cut & inserted between batteries for air circulation
batteries installed

and wired, vent will be installed in lid, and possibly forced air circulation to outside atmosphere
repaired all delaminated tabbing that I found in engine room
new engine stringers 3 x 16 Douglas fir
rough shape
niece and nephew surfing

faired to hull

sealed with 4oz glass cloth
glued to hull with thickened resin
Fillets

fun bilge yoga needed to lay the glass, I'm literally laying on the cured port side stringer laying the glass on the starboard side
finally! ended up laying 5 layers each of chopped strand mat alternated with woven roving on each side.  some major acrobatics were involved to lay it all at once and exit the room without disturbing the lay-up
and finally some fresh paint
